Creamy Italian Dip
Jun 18, 2017 | by Lisa Reynoso

This recipe puts an Italian spin on your favorite veggie dip. Quick and easy to whip up, you can make this in a hurry to replace the dairy-based Ranch dressing that came with that veggie tray and stay true to you plant-based died without giving up flavor!
1 c sunflower seeds
1 c water
¼ c lemon juice
1 small clove garlic
½ heaping teaspoon onion powder
Italian Dressing Mix
Veggies for dipping
Blend all ingredients except Italian dressing mix until creamy. Mix in the seasoning, adding water to dilute if needed. Serve as a dip for veggies. May dilute even more to make a dressing for salad.
Chef’s note: Can also be made as a Ranch by using a Ranch dip mix (if you are vegan, there are vegan Ranch dips available, just read the label). Or leave out the dressing mix and add ½ teaspoon of salt to make a vegan sour cream. Can sub other seeds or nuts as desired (my son, who is allergic to sunflower seeds, likes it with an almond/pumpkin seed/hemp seed blend).
