Morning Express
- 1 orange, peeled
- 4 to 5 carrots, scrubbed well, tops removed.
Divide the orange into segments that will fit into your juicer’s feed tube. Juice the orange with the carrots and stir before serving.
Nutritional Note: Oranges contain selenium, a powerful antioxidant.
Ginger Twist
- 1 sweet apple, washed (optional)
- 1 small handful parsley, rinsed
- 4 carrots, scrubbed well, tops removed
- 1/4 lemon, washed or peeled if not organic
- 1-inch piece of ginger root, washed
Bunch up the parsley and juice it with the apple, carrots, lemon and ginger. Stir before serving.
Nutritional Note: Parsley is a vitamin supplement all by itself. It is loaded with beta carotene, and ounce for ounce it has more than three times the vitamin C of an orange. It also offers riboflavin, calcium, iron, magnesium and potassium and has been used traditionally as a diuretic.
Cranberry-Apple Cocktail
- 2 to 3 medium apples, washed
- ½ cup fresh cranberries, rinsed (or frozen thawed)
- ½ lemon, washed or peeled
To prevent the cranberries from flying out of the machine while juicing turn the machine off, add the cranberries and then the apples on top.
Nutritional Note: Research has repeatedly shown the benefits of cranberry juice for promoting healthy urinary tracts.
